Today We Slay -Inner Circle (King City) 2025

My work explores abstraction as a means to engage with the natural world through a contemporary lens, examining identity, perception, and memory by blending abstraction and figuration to uncover subtle traces of human presence and invite reflection on overlooked details. Throughout my life, I have been a steadfast ally to the LGBTQ+ community—within my family, among friends, and in society at large. For the Today We Slay exhibition, I am presenting eight of forty-five photographs that will be part of an upcoming book, The Collected Poems: A New Translation of C.P. Cavafy’s poetry, a project I am developing in collaboration with a professor who has translated his work into English. Cavafy’s poetry, with its deep engagement with sensuality, LGBTQ+ experiences, and identity, has profoundly influenced my art. This series reflects his exploration of LGBTQ+ life and passion, and I believe these photographs resonate deeply with the spirit of Pride.
